Algene (Butta) Tisdale was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 5, 1945 to Herbert Brooks Sr and Lardessa Johnson.
She was the oldest of four children; Herbert Brook, Jr., Angela Brooks (deceased) and Elizabeth Brooks (deceased)
Algene graduated from Girls Trade where she studied to become a Registered Nurse. To know Butta was to love her. She was a kind, generous and loving person.
She married Willis Tisdale, Jr. and from this union came seven children; TaJuana Pratt, Tonya, Willis, III, Eura (deceased) Tasha, Shawn, LaRay.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, TaJuana Pratt(Craig), Tonya (Kason), Willis (Cindy), Tasha, Shawn, and LaRay; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
