Asaun James Moreland

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of our beloved Asaun James Moreland. Born to the late Ashleigh Dixon and Vashawn Moreland on December 23, 2007.

Asaun attended Aliquippa Jr.-Sr. High School. He was an amazing boy. Ace was silly, serious and a protector. Even on your worst day Asaun could put a smile on your face. And if he loved you, it was unconditional. Even being so young, if he loved you, he would go to the ends of the earth for you. He was like any other kid, when he was bored, he wanted to play his game and loved hanging with his friends. He loved his grandma. He loved his family. He loved his mom. All he ever wanted was to protect his mom.

Although it didn't seem like it, Asaun could do anything; only if he wanted to do it. But if he knew that you needed him, he was there. Ace experienced things a lot of kids never have; he swam in the ocean, he went to Disneyland and Universal. We wanted him to travel, to see the world beyond the parameters of Aliquippa.

Asaun's smile and laughter would brighten anyone's day. His family will forever miss Asaun's excitement and joy when experiencing new things. He was a jokester who loved making people laugh but he took protecting his loved ones very serious. Asaun loved music. His family would often hear him singing/rapping. He also taught himself how to code and program computers. He wanted to be a game developer.

In addition to his mother Ashleigh Dixon, Asaun was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Juanita Harris; grandfather, James Dixon Sr. and brother Justin Gilbert.

He leaves to cherish his memory grandmothers, Brenda Dixon and Janice Townsend; siblings, Brooklyn Alexis Littles, Shiona Gilbert and Karter McClendon; three aunts, Kimberly Ann Gray, Samantha (Alvin) Gipson and Aisa Martin; six uncles, James (Paula) Dixon Jr., Terel Darnell Dixon, Darryl Sharon Dixon, Shraun Moreland, Taquit Martin and Jaquit Martin; god-mother, Summer Baldwin; god-sister, Summari Motton; and a host of other family and friends.
