Barbara George Graham Obituary

Barbara Jean George Graham, age 74, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday November 9th in Topeka, KS. She was born January 14, 1950 in Erie, PA. Barbara is the daughter of both the late Jessie James George Sr. and Mattie Johnson George Riley; stepdaughter of Artis Riley.

Barbara was a former member of The Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, during her time in Erie, PA. She was a strong woman of faith, and believer in Christ who dedicated her life to the uplifting of his name, and the demonstration of true Christian servanthood. Barbara was a passionate teacher and educator throughout her life; she believed "all children can excel," and often poured into children and youth who were struggling or forgotten. In addition, she proudly served in the U.S Army Reserves. Barbara loved family, unity, the arts, a good play, and was an avid dreamer and goal setter.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie George Sr., and Mattie Belle Johnson George Riley, and siblings Beverly Essex and Ricky George.

Barbara leaves to cherish her in precious memory her daughters - Jamilla Lane of Florida and Fatima Graham (Zachery) of DC, and their father Melvin Graham of New York, stepfather Artis Riley, siblings  - Minnie Schwartz (Leonard) of Michigan, Mary Miles and Daniel George of Georgia, Gregory George (Rosie) of Ohio, Rachel Conlisk (Patrick) of Portugal, Frankie Johnson, Jessie George Jr., Pastor Vickie Jones (Bishop Curtis L. Jones, Sr.), Mark George (Amie) Viola Woodard (Earthee Lee) all of Erie, PA, granddaughters Zoie Drew, Amiyah & Leianna Lane, and an adored host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to call and Celebration of Life Service at New Life Spirit and Revival Center, 315 E 9th St Erie, PA  16503 on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Celebration of Life at noon with Elder Curtis L. Jones, Jr officiating and Bishop Curtis L. Jones, Sr. Eulogizing. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Erie, PA.
