Barry Cornell Cox went home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2025 in Mobile, Alabama-his final resting place.

Barry was born April 27, 1963 to the late Aaron Andrews Cox and Catherine Gray (Cox). He was born and raised in Center Township, where he also resided in Beaver County for many years and built a successful and meaningful life.

A light to all who knew him, Barry was truly a force to be reckoned with. He carried strength, confidence, and purpose, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.

Barry attended Eastern Kentucky University, graduating with the Class of 1987, where his athletic talent and determination earned him comparisons to NFL great Tony Dorsett. Reigning with the infamous #33. Barry was inducted into the Beaver County Hall of Fame (2022) and Eastern Kentucky University Athletics (2017). He far excelled beyond college and had provisions of going pro until an unfortunate car accident, by Barry was determined and resilient and setbacks couldn't stop him.

For over a decade Barry was a partner with the HomeBoy's Football camp (Beaver County) alongside his life-long best friend Tyrone Dixon. Barry's contribution to the camp left a tremendous impact which motivated and inspired the youth to chase their dreams and to stay encouraged. He coached Beaver Falls middle school/Junior High Football for a brief time as well.

Barry honorably served in the United States Army, serving during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1991, answering the call to serve his country with courage and honor. Later in life, Barry returned to Pennsylvania, where his first daughter, Autumn Cox, was born —one of his proudest joys and his baby girl Deirdra Starr Cox who he also adored and cherished. Following her in her father's footsteps, Autumn also served in the United States Air force with Honorable Discharge.

Barry was a phenomenal son, brother, uncle, and stepfather, deeply devoted to his family and loved ones. His culinary skills were unmatched and he was a master on the grill. A dedicated, hardworking, loyal family man, friend and mentor he exceeded the title of an exceptional man.

People gravitated towards him. A few best friends made along the way that became family were Ann and Delia Brown (Beaver Falls) who were like sisters, Sylvia Oliver (Kentucky) Patty Washington (Beaver Falls) Leonard Mcelvy (Nw Brighton), the late Sherrie Mason and so many more. He loved to travel and his humor was infectious. Barry left an impact on all who knew him. Barry lived by the quote "Failure is not an option". A was a fighter and very head-strong individual.
