Bernice Carol Singleton, age 70, passed away on October 31, 2019, after a series of illnesses, in

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Carol spent her early years in Youngstown and Columbus, Ohio. Following her

graduation from East High School in Columbus, she moved to lovely Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. She was

member of the Aliquippa Elks Lodge. Carol attended Kent State University in Kent Ohio, and Antioch

College in Columbia Maryland. She was a people person, never met a stranger, and was a mother,

sister, friend and "Auntie" to many. Carol was an avid reader and music lover, who enjoyed Bid whist,

various other card and board games, and was known for her delicious corn pudding and Grandma Lee

rolls, to name a few delicacies.

Carol had a generosity of spirit and love, that would fill a room and touch the hearts of everyone in her

presence. She had a gift with words and displayed a wry sense of humor that would render one bent

over with laughter. She faced life's disappointments with abiding faith and eternal optimism. Above all,

her warmth and personality left an indelible imprint on the hearts and minds of those who love her and

will forever miss her.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Butler, Lillian (Mae) Singleton Birt and John Henry

Birt; brothers, David Birt, and Cecil Birt, and special cousin, Jean (Pooskey) Smith. She is survived by her

daughter, Les Marie Singleton; grandson, Loren Singleton; brother, Jeffrey Birt; nephew, David Birt, Jr;

nieces, Cortney Birt, Dr. Lindsey Birt, and Ashley Birt; great nephew, Tristin Birt-Scott; special cousin,

Pauletta Rouse, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
