Betty June Leavell Johnson, transitioned to her heavenly Father's house on, Saturday, December 28, 2024. Where there are many mansions and as the scriptures promised in John 14:2, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you that hopefully all, one day may join them in this heavenly abode. Let's get our house in order.

Betty was born: Wednesday, November 21, 1934, in Sandusky, OH, to the loving parents of Anderson and Della (Walker) Leavell. She was the baby of eleven siblings so, needless to say anymore 'SPOILED", and they held her down until they took their last breath, always loving Little Sis. She was a joy to be around, and she truly loved her sweets.

Betty attended Sandusky High School. Upon leaving she eventually met the love of her life, Curtis J. Johnson, Sr. and they were wed in Holy Matrimony on May 7, 1955, with the love and guidance from her father Anderson and mother Della and being raised by God fearing parents, they installed a lifelong passion of love for God, his word, and family.

Betty was a member of Second Baptist Church in Sandusky, OH with moving to Erie, PA where she established membership at Antioch M.B. Church, under the late Rev. A.H. Hunter.

She was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother. "Stern" one that truly believed in "not" sparing the rod "or" spoiling the child, and we are all the better for it. "Thank you" for a lifelong of aha moments.

Betty was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis Sr. in 1996, a son Nathaniel in 1988, a granddaughter Cherisse in 1991, siblings – Charles E. (Thelma), Lewis C. (Aleatha), Walker A. (Janice), Leonard L. (Angela), Greta L. Marcus (Willie), Eugene D. (Beulah Mae), Mamie E. Leavell, Rebecca B. Leavell, infant Leavell, and sister in-law Lovey A. Leavell.

Betty leave to cherish her memory a loving brother – Daniel I. Leavell of Sandusky, OH, sister in-law LoDoris Leavell in Brunswick, GA, her children – Deacon Curtis J. Johnson, Jr. (Cathy), Richard A. Johnson (Joyce), Greta T. Johnson, Leonard A. Johnson (Conrad), Linda A. Johnson, Rosetta Johnson, Rebecca A. Hollamon (Larry), Jessica C. Johnson (Donald), 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Betty has lost so many family and friends throughout her life, now all are joyously, spiritually celebrating together.

Thank you to all that touched our mothers' life with appreciation and love we all must carry the torch. Our greatest gift to each other is love one another; remember life is but a vapor. Peace be with us all. Amen
