Booker T. Fanning age 92 a cherished family member, respected veteran, and a beloved member of the Aliquippa community, has passed away August 28, 2025, at 6:10 PM. Born on June 9, 1933, in Troup County, Georgia, Book was the son of the late Mr. Sam and Mrs. Minnie B. Fanning, Sr.

At an early age, Book confessed Christ and joined Hope Well Baptist Church in Upatoi, Ga. Continuing his relationship with Jesus Christ by joining Triedstone Baptist Church located in Aliquippa, PA. He served as a Deacon and continued his service to the Church until his untimely death.

Book attended grade school in Upatoi, Ga. Book was drafted in the U.S. Army at the age of 18. He served there from 1948 through 1953 as a Plasterer Helper in the Korean War.  During his time with the Military, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Metal and United Nations Service Metal. After retiring from the Military, he continued his service with the National Guard.

Once he was discharged from the military Book began working at the J&L Steele Mill and retired after a 30-year career.

Book was preceded in death of his Stepsons Robert Snowden, Michael Walker and Jeffery Walker and also two brothers and 5 sisters. Their memories were a source of joy and solace throughout his life.

He leaves to cherish his wonderful memory: A loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Martha Jeanne Fanning, two daughters, Tia Fanning of Bellevue PA., Selena Fanning of Texas, one step-son, Dale Walker of Aliquippa, one sister, Bernice Fanning Holmes of Marietta, GA., a special niece, Lenora Fanning Fitzpatrick of Pine Mountain, GA., nephew Terrance McDonald, grand children Dale Walker Jr., Derrell Walker, Vincent Shaw (Renee), Taylor Pinnick and Brooklynn Pinnick.
