Charles Glen Horton, "Chark / Charlie", a proud veteran of the United States Marines, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2022 in Aliquippa, PA of natural causes. He was 83 years old. Born in Aliquippa, Pa on March 5, 1939, the second of nine children to the late Charlie Rufus Horton and Willie Mae Horton.

Charles was formerly married to Ann Horton-Smith and of that union they have 2 daughters, Charletta Lynn Archibald
(Anthony) of Kissimmee, FL, daughter Robin Jequale Gomes (Mark) of Parma Heights, OH, granddaughter Lynsey Anne Tischler (Gregory), Anthony Jerome Archibald II, Camille Jequale Gomes, great-grandchildren Myah Tischler and Lyana Tischler.   He is survived by sister Anna Mae Horton of Aliquippa, PA, sister Marjorie Epps (Leroy) of Aliquippa, PA, brother Ronald Horton (Miriam deceased) of Atlanta, GA, sister Bernice Lindsey (Willie) of Freedom, PA, brother Wallace Horton (Susan Mixon) of MD, and Paulette Aston (Thomas) of Ambridge, PA. He was proceeded in death by brother Raymond Horton. Charles has a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

Charles, "Chark/Charlie" a life-long resident of Aliquippa, he grew up, and lived a full life, where he was a pillar of the community. A "jack-of-all-trades master of none, though often times better than master of one," he routinely helped his family and others with electrical, concrete and brick work, cutting grass, plumbing, building decks – Chark
just could do it all. A wise and selfless man, Chark loved his family, often shown by just always being there when you needed him. He knew a lot about everything, and would do anything for his family, friends and community without hesitation. A hard-working man, he was employed with J&L/LTV Steel for over 20 years where he retired as a machinist supervisor and then worked several years with Rockwell International also where he retired. Chark would let you know what was on his mind while telling it like it is. He made everyone laugh out loud with his different sense of humor and was just a fun guy to know and love.  Chark was a devoted Aliquippa Fighting Quips football and sports fan and no doubt a Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Year after year he traveled and enjoyed watching and rooting for his championship teams. Whether it's in attendance to many Aliquippa High School football state championship games or watching the Steelers win another super bowl, he truly loved the game of football.

The strength of a man is in his character. A strong man is a great man of wisdom who understands that his top priority is his family. Charles was a strong man who enjoyed life to the fullest and left a lasting impression to all who had the privilege to meet, know and love him. Our family is grateful to know that he was loved by many throughout the
Aliquippa community and beyond.
