CHRISTOPHER JAMES BASNIGHT FAIELLA, 39, was called home peacefully into eternal rest on October 25, 2024.

Chris was born on October 15, 1985 to Barbara {Williams} Basnight in Sewickley Hospital. At the age of ten (10) he gave his life to the Lord at Triumph Baptist Church. As a personal testament of his faith and walk with God he carried his pocket Bible daily.

He was educated in the Quaker Valley School District, Sewickley, PA and graduated from the South Lenoir School District, Kinston, North Carolina. Upon graduation he worked for numerous restaurants before attending Johnson and Wales University where he obtained an A.A.S. in Culinary Arts.

Chris was passionate and dedicated to Culinary Arts and held high standards for Culinary Excellence. His name as "CHEF HEAVY HANDZ" was part of his trademark and commitment to his craft as an Entrepreneur.

Chris loved being social, if he was in the room there was laughter and joy. He greeted everyone with a smile and the best hugs, you could feel his love. His zeal for life was contagious and he always had an idea to help everyone he loved.

There are many attributes to describe the Gentle Giant, to name a few- loyal, honest, compassionate, and a big jokester, but you could count on him to keep it real. To know him was to know love. Chris was many things to many people- son (we know he loved his Mama), brothers (he took his job as a big brother seriously), Father (the pride of his heart Emma), Grandson, Nephew Cousin, Friend, Mentor, and a giver to all, but out of them all he loved being a child of God. He was everyone's favorite family member.

Chris was preceded in death by his great grandmother- Mapple Walker; great grandfather- Goliton Walker; great grandmother- Mary Faiella; great grandfather- Egidio Faiella; grandfathers- John W. Spears, Bobbie L. Williams and Joseph Lee Sr.; grandmother- Linda Faiella; beloved brother- Brandon Basnight- Everett; great uncles- Lynd Walker, Frank Walker, Marvin Anderson; great aunt- Louise Williams; cousin- Eddie Peake Jr., Freddie Williams, Owon Basnight, and Matthew Faiella.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory - his Sun Moon and Star his daughter -  Emma Arabella Faiella (Baby Love), Two special women in his life, his girlfreind Victoria Romigh and the mother of his daughter Nicole Ussellman. Grandmothers, Nora Spears (His Sweetheart), Marlene Lee; grandparents - Eugene and Judy Faiella; Uncles - William (Belinda) Walker, John Spears Jr. and Anthony Faiella; Great Aunts - Sallie Walker, Jean Anderson and Rose Mary Faiella Weyand, Aunts Yvonne Rice, Marilyn Williams, Renee Williams, Ruthann Spears, Gina Faiella Fustich, Diane Russo, and Connie Psomas.
