Reverend Conrad Person was called home on February 7, 2024.  All who knew him will take comfort in his testimony of confidence in his resurrection. He was respected for his industry, ethics and good humor. In business he gave full measure; in family life he was faithful and committed; in friendship he was generous and attentive; in his religious life he walked joyfully with the Lord. He was a devoted member of The Father's House Church in Rochester, PA.

Born in rural Heard County Georgia of Curie and Leola (Wilkerson) Person, he had five sisters; Mildred Person, Margaret Bass, Carrol Givens, Annice Lay, and Deloisteen Brown, M.D. The family moved, when he was a teenager, to Aliquippa Pennsylvania. He took employment at J&L Steel Alliquippa Works (Byproducts) at age sixteen and worked in positions of increasing responsibility for the next thirty-eight years. At the time of his retirement in 1983, he was Chief Operator of the plant's Benzyl Distillation Operation, a position he achieved only after vigorously challenging the company's color bar. He was a staunch member of United Steel Workers Local 1211 during his entire career.

He was married for nearly forty years to Fannie Mae (Thomas) in a union that produced six children (Gregory, Dale, Jacqueline, Conrad Jr, Dawn, and Mervin). The couple were true partners in terms of faith, family life, and ambition. In 1960 they bought acreage in Hanover Township and turned it into a working farm primarily raising beef cattle. They both attended Harty Bible School and assisted others to succeed in that rigorous program. He became, for a time, the pastor of Christian Lighthouse Church in Aliquippa with his wife working by his side. Upon her death, he was blessed to marry again, becoming wed to Lillian (Stephens.) They remained together until her passing in 2016.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and small game hunting. He never hunted deer, and did not begrudge them their share of his corn fields, often saying that they were too beautiful to hunt. A remarkable marksman, he occasionally amazed his children with trick shots such as striking matches. After his hunting years had passed, he still enjoyed observing wildlife such as pheasants and turkeys from his front porch.

Reverend Person is survived by his sisters, Carrol Givens, Annice Lay, and Deloisteen Brown M.D.; his daughter -in-law Brenda (White) Person Ph.D.) and his children and; Dale (Sheila,) Conrad (Nicole PhD,) Dawn EdD., and Mervin (Catalina.); grandchildren Jibri, Kellie DVM, Ashley, Annique Baston, Nathan Baston, Hannibal M.D., Halcyon, Bryson Hampton-Person, Amara Hampton-Person, David; and five great-grandchildren, Gregory, AJ, Jaquir, David, Anthea, Cassius, Maya, and Bryson II. There are also nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who held a place in his heart but are too numerous to list.
