In Loving Memory of Corporal Hermon Ellis III

Corporal Hermon Ellis Ill, age 64, blessed the Earth with his presence on February 18, 1961, and transitioned peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the VA Hospital in Oakland.

Hermon was a proud attendee of Aliquippa High School and continued his educational journey by earning his GED and an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice.

Corporal Ellis honorably served in the United States Armed Forces as a Food Service Specialist, attaining the rank of CPL/E4. Over the course of ten years, he dutifully served at various military stations, earning numerous medals, awards, and badges in recognition of his integrity, and commitment to his fellow service members and country.

Following his military career, Hermon continued his life of service as a dedicated employee at the VA Hospital, from which he retired after 15 years. His heartfelt presence left an enduring mark on all who knew him.

Hermon found joy in life's simple yet meaningful pleasures-reading, playing chess, and collecting comic books. His wisdom, humor, and companionship will be missed beyond measure.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sylvia Ellis and Hermon Ellis, and his dear sisters Patricia Ann King, Katherine Ellis, and Sharon Ellis; His niece Katoya Ellis; brother-in-law Jimmy Gotell: Aunts Dorothy King, Janie Lee King- Cobb, and Elvira Lawson.

Hermon's memory lives on through his daughters, Sylvia Jarrett of North Carolina and Mikayla Jones of Aliquippa; sisters Theresa Jones of Aliquippa and Betty Ann Gotell of Rochester; brothers Lionel Ellis and Richard (Tiffany) Ellis of Aliquippa; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and faithful friends.

A burial with full military honors will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies,
