Darryl (Kumuzu) Jamison, of Erie transitioned from his residence to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Darryl was born June 5, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of the late Robert S. Jamison Sr., and Dolores (Henry) Jamison.  He was the third of ten siblings.  Darryl graduated from the Fifth Avenue High School in Pittsburgh.  He continued his collegiate undergraduate education at Gannon College, where Darryl earned a Bachelor of Biology Science in 1977.  Darryl later received his Master of Microbiology Science from Edinboro University in 1982.  He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health as an Environmental Supervisor. Following retirement, Darryl launched Jamison Environmental, specializing in mold and radon testing.  He additionally answered to "his calling" of assistance and support of local youth; Darryl worked as a Mobile Therapist with Bethesda Community Care and a Case Manager with Case Management Support Services.

Darryl made Erie his home for over 45 years and was a member of the Family Worship Center.  He truly enjoyed reading, landscaping, golfing, fishing, basketball, and a challenging game of chess. Darryl was a loving husband, father, doting grandfather, mentor, conversationalist, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sonda R. Patterson, a brother Terrence Jamison, sister-in- laws, Belinda Johnson and Mildred McLaurin.

Darryl leaves a legacy of precious memories with his wife of 40 years, Debora; three sons' Rasheed, Jabbar, (Nandiyel) and Darryl Jr., and a daughter, Sonda.  Darryl is further survived by ten grandchildren, listed in birth order; Nasir Lyons, Tanajah Hurt, Geolon Lyons, Alleyah Jibul, Nylah Jibul, Najah Jibul, Sanaiah Jamison, Jabbar Jamison Jr., Leah Jamsion and Nur Jibul.  He additionally leaves loving memories with his siblings, Robert Jamison, Jr., Rev. Debra Sims (Adolph), Keith Jamison (Beth), Thomas Jamison, Sr. (Roberta), Dolores Darlene Jamison, Vernon Jamison, and Kathleen Jamison, his mother-in-law, Bernice Carter and father-in-law, Boyd McLaurin Sr., sister-in-law, Cynthia McLaurin and brother-in law, Boyd McLaurin Jr., as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Calling hours will be Saturday, March 6, 2021 beginning at 10:00 am., at the Family Worship Center, 1201 Parade St., Erie Pa.  A Homegoing celebration will begin at noon, with Pastor John Thomas of the Mt. Zion Apostolic Faith Church, eulogizing.  Internment will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery.  All CDC guidelines will be adhered to and everyone must wear a mask.  The Pitts Funeral Home of 2926 Pine Ave., of Erie, Pa is handling the professional arrangements and condolences.
