On September 22, 2022, Deesonya "Dee" P Hughes was called to her final resting place prepared by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Dee was born in Aliquippa, PA on August 18, 1968, to Diane Cunningham.

Dee is a 1986 graduate of Aliquippa High School.  She furthered her education at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration in 1990.  Dee went on to work for the Aliquippa Police Department, Holy Family and Fed Ex.

Dee accepted Christ in her life at an early age.  She was a faithful member of Greater Emmanuel AME Zion Church in Aliquippa, PA where she helped start the Youth Missionaries.  She enjoyed serving in the ministry, trusted God's word and lived faithfully on his promises.

Dee was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Broadies Hughes.  She is survived by her sons Ka'Ron, Calvin, Tywon and Darnell Hughes, Aliquippa, PA; daughter Aisha Hughes and grandson DeShawn Hughes, Columbus, OH; mother, Dianne Cunningham, Detroit, MI; brothers Shawn (Sheila) Hughes, Phoenix, AZ and Robert (Lisa) Cunningham, Detroit, MI; Aunt Joanne Smith, Aliquippa, PA and Dorothy Cotman, Rochester, PA; Uncle Richard (Karen) Mann, Riverview, FL; devoted friends Sylvia Brooks and Cynthia Bazemore, Aliquippa, PA and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
