On Friday April 9, 2020, Derek Alan Diggs, loving son, brother, father and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 65.

Derek was born on January 19, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Pa to Ozel 'Snooki' Diggs and Aurelia 'Rita' Harlow Williams Diggs. After graduation from Wilkinsburg High School Class of 1973, Derek joined the U.S Army briefly, then attended California State University, where he met and fell in love with Kim Freeman (Diggs), that union created a daughter, Stacee. After leaving Cal State Derek settled into a career in the U.S. Navy. An avid reader and music lover, Derek loved spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered most for his sense of humor – he was always the life of the party.

Derek was preceded in death by his parents and sister Stacee Marjorie Diggs. He leaves behind to mourn his sister Quelle N Diggs, daughter Stacee C Diggs, grandchildren Derek A. and Simone C. Pinkney, nephew Timothy A. and nieces Hannah N. and Noa H. Diggs and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
