Edith Elizabeth Knight, 62, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born on February 27, 1960 in Erie, PA, daughter of the late Nathaniel and Bitha L. Dean Knight.

Edith was long time resident of Erie, and was formally employed by Blair Corp, Presque Isle Casino, Bundle of Love Daycare and Martin Luther King Center. She worked as a teacher assistant for numerous years; her passion was working with children she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She enjoyed interacting with her Facebook family and friends, and playing solitaire. On the weekends she enjoyed going to garage sales and shopping with her sister. But most of all she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter C. Yvonne Knight; grandson Ja'Sai Levon Knight; three sisters Patricia Mitchell, Victoria Dawkins, and Shirley Larkin; three brothers Willie, Joseph and Nathaniel Knight; three nephews Clevon Dean, Shawn and Taurean Knight; one great Nephew Isaiah Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her pride and joy, her son Jo'Nathan Lee Knight; four sisters Theresa (Esker) Smith, Mozella, Katherine and Mary Knight all of Erie; four brothers Amos and David Dean, Benjamin Knight of Erie, and Enoch Knight of Fairfield, CA; one grandson Javi'Eon Lee Knight and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Family may visit with the family at Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 10 am to 12 pm, where a home going celebration will immediately follow.
