Edward (Eddie) Earl Tate, 74, of Erie, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Andover Place Retirement Living Center in Andover, OH.

He was born November 2, 1946 in Macon, MS to the late Judge and Willie Mae Dunlap – Tate, Jr.

He graduated from Academy High School. He worked for General Electric for 30 years.

He was a life time member of Miracle Tempe Church of God in Christ with Richard Chambers as his Pastor.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his bother Willie Eris Williams and step son Thomas Vaughn.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 27 years Geraldine Vaughn; three children – Joseph Jordan, Nicole Alexander and Christian Myles; two step daughters – Armanda and Tanaga; eight grandchildren – Kayla, Sydney, Serenity, Miah, Josiah, Kiya, Jeremiah and David; two sisters – Della Quinn and Stella Beckwith (Paul); four brothers – Robert Tate (Charity), James Tate, Jerry Tate (Shirley) and Bruce Tate, along with a host of aunts; uncles; nephews; nieces other relatives and friends.

Eddie was a Born Again Christian; he re-dedicated his life to Christ three years before his death. He was a loving thoughtful husband, an extraordinary father and grandfather. He loved helping others and spending time with family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Second Baptist Church, 757 E. 26 ^th Street, Monday, September 27, 2021 from 10 am – 12 pm, where a home going celebration will immediately follow, with Pastor Lamont Higginbottom, Sr. presiding. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16504. ALL CDC GUIDELINES WILL BE FOLLOWED AND A MASK IS REQUIRED!
