Elder Emma Elizabeth Isadora Betha Scruggs was born on November 01, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Willie Albert and Aria Stanley- Betha. She passed away to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 03, 2024.

Elder Scruggs received The Lord at the age of 36. During her walk with Christ she was called to the Gospel Ministry under the tutelage of the late Dr. David A. Armstead and was ordained and Elder in the Lords Church. She was a caring and loving mother, faithful worshipper and a true woman of God.

Our mother, grandmother and friend was involved in many activities during her spiritual journey. She was a member of the Ministry Alliance, Pastor Aide and served as a member of The Jail Ministry in Beaver and Allegheny Counties.

Whenever there was a church function. She would make the turkey and Dressing. Everyone said hers was the best they ever tasted.

During her downtime she enjoyed spending time with her family and she loved cooking for them, she could be founded relaxing during crossword puzzles and she was an avid Steelers fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband the late John Scruggs Jr.; children Jerome Betha, Johnetta Hunter, Marsha Scruggs and Peter Scruggs.

She is survived by her daughter - Christine Scruggs; son -  Paul Scruggs; daughter-in-law Darlene Cummings; grandchildren and great grandchildren -  Lanise(Edwin) Adams Sr., Christopher Scruggs(Pauline Perminter), Jerome Betha II, Steven Cummings, Michelle O'Neal, Turkessa Carter, Tomarr Warr, Jerome Betha III, Jaziza Betha, Jordan Cummings, Imani Adams, Adora Adams, Edwin Adams Jr., Ta'myah Warr, Malachi McCormick, and adopted grandson Lamont Cain; foster Daughters -  Nina Akins, Anita Sheppard, Mary Sheppard, Christine Sheppard, Jackie Sheppard,  Sharon Reeves, Donna Matthews, Sonya Jeter, Anitra Jeter, Gloria Thornton and Jackie Stanback; foster sons - Paul Bullock, Oscar Peoples,  the Sheppard brothers Mervin Steals Jr., her loving and dearest friends Mother Lillie Moore, Mother Johnnie Mae Akins, Mother Rebecca Wiley, Sister Hattie Miller, Mrs. Louise Elmore, Mrs. Ann Parham, Mrs. Bertha Lay, Sister Jacqueline Stanback, Min Shirley Bell, and Elder Yvonette Tazel, she is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Sound The Alarm Ministries, 1 Shekinah Way, Aliquippa, PA 15001, on Saturday, October 05, 2024, from Noon to 1:00 pm, where a home going celebration will immediately follow then followed by a repast. Interment will be held on Monday, October 07, 2024 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery. The Betha And Scruggs Family Would Like To Thank Everyone For Everything During Our Time Of Bereavement.
