Eleanor J. "Boots" Green Redd, 82, of Aliquippa Pa, was called home, to be with her Lord and Savior, on August 11 ^th 2021, after a brief illness.  Boots was born, on April 13, 1939, in Aliquippa PA.  She was the eldest daughter of the late Clarence Green Sr. and Lucenda Beckom Green.

She was a graduate of Aliquippa High School, Class of 1957.  After raising her children, she decided to further her education by attaining an associate degree from Carlow College.   She also attained a B.A. in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.  Eleanor taught at Head Start of Beaver County for over 36 years.   During this time, she helped many kids with social development and school readiness skills.  Mrs. Redd, as the kids would call her, touched many generations of kids throughout Aliquippa.

Sister Eleanor, was a member of Tried Stone Baptist Church, where she served on the Floral Ministry and chaired the Annual Mother's Day Luncheon for over 20 years.  She adored her community and believed in giving acknowledgement to the deserving while they are still living.  Some of her other activities and memberships:  Court of Calanthe, Eastern Star, Quippan Club Auxiliary, and The Good Time Steelers Club.   Eleanor was the 2011 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Honoree and a 2018 Strive 4 XLNT Unsung Hero Recipient.   She enjoyed shopping, wearing hats, decorating, cooking, and chatting on the phone.   She relished entertaining family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Andre Redd, sisters; Janice "Peggy" (Edward) Thornton, Joyce "Pete" Green.  Foster siblings; Inez Sligh, Delores (Edward) Jones, Marvetta Jones, lifelong friend Carletta Champ and husband Willie Redd.

Aunt Boots leaves to cherish her memories a devoted son and daughter, Michael Redd, Harmony Twp., PA and Maureen Redd, Aliquippa PA.   A daughter in-law, Shearron Redd, Rochester NY, granddaughter's Terria Moreland, Newport News VA.   Anazia Hillman Redd and Terria Baldwin, both of Rochester NY.  Four great-grandchildren; Darien, Khalil, Tristan and Zyahnna.   Two brothers, Clarence "Tim" (Carolyn) Green Aliquippa PA and Charles "Chuck" (Carol) Green, Pontiac MI.  Two God-children; Karlon and Karma Jackson, and cousin Carolyn Pitts Rice. Many nieces and nephews, including Chief Darryl (Renie) Jones, PHD, Rob (Inika) Jones, Edward Thornton Jr., Johnnie Hill Jr., Donavan Jones, Keisa Thornton, Tenida Green and Jennice Hill Parker, Nekoyia (Marquis) Iverson, 2LT Kaleah Jones and Destiny Smith.  She also leaves to mourn her passing a host of friends and her Pastor, Reverend James L. (Polly) Cherry.

Visitation will be held on August 18, 2021, from 3:00 PM-8:00 PM, at Tried Stone Baptist Church, 503 Washington St, Aliquippa PA 15001, where a celebration of life, will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2021 @11:00 AM.  "A touch of Red is requested".  The family recommends to wear masks.  Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Aliquippa PA, 15001.
