Obituary – Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson – A CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Elizabeth "Betty" Thompson, 75, of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Rochester, Pennsylvania in 1949 to the late Eddie Mae and Oliver Thompson, Betty was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

She is predeceased by her former husband, Teola Patillo, Jr., her cherished sister, Olivia Thompson, her dear nephew, Travis L. Williams and Grandparents, Bishop and Willie Mae Steals.

Betty is survived by her two siblings, Athena (Ernest) Williams, Hopewell Twp.; Edward Thompson, Aliquippa. More than anything, Betty's heart belonged to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her devoted sons, Terrell (Kathy) Patillo, Timothy (Racquel) Patillo, and Tyrone (Princess) Patillo. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Ebony Middlebrooks, Terina Lundy, Michael Fitzgerald, DJ Fitzgerald, Tamar, Sterling, Kennedy, Christian, and Elise Patillo. She was a treasured aunt to Edward "Sid" Hunt, Kim Edmunds, Genevieve Moxley, Tamica (Don) O'Connor and Leigh Williams.  Four great-grandchildren, along with a host of cousins that are near and dear to her heart.

A proud graduate of Aliquippa High School's Class of 1968, Betty had a passion for life's simple joys. She found true happiness as homemaker, creating tasty meals and delightful baked goods for those she loved. Her creativity extended beyond cooking—she was a gifted seamstress, designing and sewing her own clothes and hats with exquisite craftsmanship. Her hands were rarely still, always knitting or crocheting intricate pieces filled with care and love.

Betty lived a vibrant, love-filled life, and her spirit will continue to shine through the memories of those she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before her.

A heartfelt thank you to the compassionate doctors, nurses and staff of the Heritage Vally Healthcare Center, Liberty Dialysis Clinic, and Life Beaver Program. Betty deeply valued the friendships she formed with both the staff and her peers, and the daily interactions and activities at Life brought her immense joy, comfort, and companionship.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her beautiful life during visitation on Tuesday, March 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pitts Funeral Home, 920 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa, PA 15001. A Life Celebration and Eulogy will be held immediately after with family from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by a cremation processional.
