Elma Haywood was called home to be with our Lord on Jan. 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 6, 1936 to the late Reverend McKinley and Rosie Lee Edmondson. Elma was a unique, caring woman of God who touched the lives of all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Trubbie Haywood, her parents, her sister Betty Edmondson and cousin, Eva Mae Robinson.

She was totally dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she was the president of the Dorcas Missionary Circle and the first women elected to Trustee Ministry at Bethel.

She graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1954 and she went on to further her education at Montefiore School of Nursing in 1957. After completing her nursing studies, she secured employment at Aliquippa Hospital as a Registered Nurse for 42 years. She was a member of the Negro & Business Professional Women's club where she was elected as Women of the Year. She was Den Mother for the Cub Scouts Pack 707, a member of Weed & Seed and Gain Greater Aliquippa Image Network. She was a longtime Chairperson of the Meade Agency, member of Aliquippa Community Collaborations and also a very active in Aliquippa Concerned Citizens.

She is survived by her children William (Solly) Haywood, Cynthia Haywood-Little both of Aliquippa and her step-daughter Arlene (Haywood) Wilkerson of Atlantic City, NJ and Joyce Jenkias (Albert) of Huston, TX. Her grandchildren; Romaine Haywood, Kazmiere Haywood and Talea Haywood-Johnson (Raphel) & Amiyah Haywood. Great-grandchildren Sage, Nahzari, Jordyn, Taahira, Harmony & Armon. Nieces and Nephews Dolita (Michael) Howard of Ohio, Kevin Keys of Arizona, Keith Keys of Phila., Kathy Keys of St. Louis, Albert Turner Jr. of Detroit and Hiram (Bettina) Turner of San Antonio. Special cousins/nephews; Henry Blocker and Terrance McNeil, God-daughter; Janice Cain, Special friends; Inez Pettis, Pricilla Dupree, Lana Gillard, Bernice Mason, Annice Lay, Jetwen Graham, Erma Jackson, Theresa Williams and the members of the Dorcas Missionary Circle.

Her life was truly a blessing to us all and memory will always be a treasured.  She will forever be "OUR QUEEN".

Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service.
