Emma "Baby Lue" Hall, age 94, went home to be with her Lord & Savior on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born, Emma Lue Gilbert, March 22nd, 1931 in Richland, Georgia to the late Beauford Gilbert & Mattie Lizzie Lowe-Durham.

Emma was named after her maternal grandmother, Lue Lowe-Williams and affectionately became known as "Baby Lue." She relocated to Aliquippa at a young age where she attended Aliquippa Public Schools and became a faithful member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Emma served as a Pastor's Aide, she was on the Dorcas Missionary Society Board, and the Kitchen committee. She was also a devoted member of the Helping Hands Charity Club and was a graduate of the Harty Bible School.

Emma married in 1950 to Willie Clarence Cooper, Sr. of West Blocton, Alabama. To this union, five beautiful children were born: Zapharan Cooper-Cashaw, and Perretta Denise Cooper, of Hartford, CT;  Willie Clarence Cooper, Jr. & wife Patti; Sheila Renee Cooper-Lindsey & husband Anthony, all of Aliquippa, PA; and Abdul Mustafa Mubdi & wife Deirdra, of Decatur, GA.

Emma remarried to James M. Hall of Suffolk, Virginia and to this union one beloved daughter was born, Verlenee Horton & husband Antoine Horton, Sr. of Monaca, PA.

Emma and James remained life partners for more than 60 years. They were happily married until his death in 2021.

In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by a devoted Aunt, Beatrice Spans; an older sister, Mary Alice Gilbert-West and brother-in-law Charlie West, Sr.; a brother-in-law Eddie Lee West, Sr., three sisters-in-law: Kate(Junious) Copeland, Beatrice (Thomas) Hunter, and Rosie Davis; two great-grandsons: Langston B. Nicholson and D'ahveA J.L. Sparrow; two nieces: Mavis Gilbert-Duncan and Edwina West; a nephew, Eddie L. West, Jr.; and two great nephews Carrell Gilbert, Jr. and Jerode West; beloved friends, Nora Lee (Monroe) Weekly, Frank Hall, Dora (Roosevelt)Barden and a host of other beloved aunts, uncles, friends and family members.

Left to cherish her memory are: her younger sister Louise West, her 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Three stepsons: James (Gwen)Hunter; Thomas (Arvis) Hall; Dr. Dennis (Ray) Hall; a sisters-in-law, Jane (Jeffrey) Potts, Evelyn Copeland, Marion (Gary)Roundtree, Gloria (Ronald) Nichols; brothers-in-law Willie Hall, Kenneth (Denise) Hall, numerous Nieces and Nephews, and a host of devoted friends including: Ann L. Bell; Jettwin Graham, Carol Kimbrough, Earlene (PeeWee) Cannon-Hyman, Laverne Blocker and her entire Bethel Missionary Baptist Church family.

Emma was the matriarch of five generations! A homemaker and fantastic cook, Emma loved fishing, and she became the best fisherwoman in the family. She enjoyed watching Westerns like Gunsmoke and going to gospel plays. Those fish fry's will truly be missed by all who were blessed to know our beloved, Baby Lue.
