It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Essie J. Moore Jr., who enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always available for a laugh or to brighten someone's day.

Essie, 65, of Erie, passed away peacefully, on May 20, 2021. He was born in Erie, on June 19, 1955, to the late Essie and Maebelle (Pope) Moore Sr.

In addition to his parents, he will be reunited with his four brothers James, Larry, Charles, and Stanley Moore, two sisters Yolanda and Yvette and a brother-in-law, Henry L. Myers.

Essie was a graduate of Academy High School and was a great musical fan of The Stylistics.

Essie leaves to cherish his memory, three siblings Tyrone B. Moore (Charlise), Cynthia Moore, Renee Myers; one uncle: Clarence Pope (Laculia); one aunt: Charline Pope; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was a member of Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C. and later became a member of Second Baptist Church. A special thank you is extended to the caregivers who have assisted in his care.

Friends are invited to call Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, on Friday, May 28th from 10:00 am to Noon, where a funeral service will be held immediately following with Rev. Floyd McClure eulogizing.  Burial will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16504. ALL CDC guidelines will be followed and everyone must wear a mask.
