Gary Williams was born December 8, 1951 in Erie, Pa to proud parents the late Roosevelt & Christeen Williams.

Gary was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. A.H. Hunter of the Antioch Baptist Church where he was a member of the children's choir and Sunday school.

Gary attended Academy High School. Upon graduating he attended The Career Academy in Washington, D.C. where he received a certificate in broadcasting. He was employed by WICU T.V. His most recent employment was at Graterford State Prison in Philadelphia, PA. Gary was respected by his co-workers. Upon returning to Erie, Gary along with several of his brothers searched throughout the city to find a restaurant for our mother who enjoyed cooking. Gary loved cooking as well. The mission was completed when they purchased Chris's Supper Club. Gary became one of the Owners and Operator of Chris's.

Gary's hobbies included attending Boxing events, collecting music equipment, and being an avid reader. He always hosted celebrations on all occasions. He was also an awesome cook. His most cherished gift was taking care of others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his, eldest brother Clearance at birth, William H. Williams, Terry, Perry Sr, Roosevelt Jr. two sons, Derrick Lucas and Mario Tate.

Survivors include four sisters, Donna Jones, Rose Williams, Sherrie Powell (Bobby) and Jaylynn Williams all of Erie; three brothers, Peter Williams (Delores) of Pittsburgh, Pa, Ernest (Ophelia), Joseph Williams all of Erie, Pa; three sons Shawn Henderson of Erie, Pa, Gary Williams Jr. of Sacramento, California, and Darius of Erie, Pa; a dear cousin Esker Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends.

Friends are invited to share with the Williams family on Saturday September 23, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 901 East 5th St Erie, PA 16507 from 10am until a time of memory sharing at 1130am. A Homegoing service will follow at 12 noon with Roger Williams eulogizing. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. Professional arrangements are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home 2926 Pine Ave Erie, PA 16504.
