George A. Thomas, Jr. (Gee Gee), 71, passed away, Friday, January 03, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1953, the eldest son of the late George A. Sr. and Willa M. Bryant Thomas.

He graduated from Erie East High School. He attended California State University of Pennsylvania and studied at Penn State Behrend.

George worked at various jobs. With determination and motivation, he prepared himself in the electronic and electrical fields. He worked at Erie General Electric Co mainly in Test of the Locomotives. He retired in 2016.

George never met a stranger and he was kindhearted. George loved his family, and friends, and spending time with them. He played the guitar for relaxation. He played with several bands. He participated in billiards tournaments with several teams. As a family tradition, he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, brother – Reginald J. Thomas; sisters – MarlettaThomas Bryant Edu, Debra L. Thomas; niece – AtrionaThomas; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his wife – Stephanie; son – Gerell; 2 brothers – Donald W. Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, and Stephen B. Thomas (Yolanda) of Springfield, MA; 2 sisters – BernisaThomas of Erie, PA, and Patrica A Smith of Erie, PA; 5 stepchildren – Jeffrey Jones, James McDonald, LeatriceMcDonald, Demetra McDonald, Tiffany McDonald; 23 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren, and many family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Apostolic Church of Jesus, 1962 Buffalo Rd, Erie, PA, Friday, January 17, 2025, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm followed by Home Going Celebration at 12:00 pm, followed by interment at Lakeside Cemetery.
