Gwendolyn "Gwen" Childs, 68, of Beaver Falls, PA passed away Monday, May 23, 2022. She was born on December 5, 1953 in Andersonville, GA to (the late) Alton Childs Sr. and Georgia English-Childs of New Brighton, PA. Gwen graduated from New Brighton High School Class of 1972.

She is preceded in death by her father Alton Childs, Sr.,  brother, Dennis J. Lumpkin. sister,  Mattie Pearl Nesmith; paternal grandparents Cicero Powell and Ruthie Asbury, maternal grandparents Louise Smith English and Charles English.

She leaves to cherish memories with her beloved and only son, Cicero Childs, siblings Alton Childs Jr. (Stephanie), Beaver Falls, PA, Jeffery Childs, Beaver Fallls, PA, Vanessa Harris, Stafford VA, Cora Childs-Henson, Raeford, NC and devoted sister-in-love Diane Ginther, New Brighton, PA a devoted daughter Kenyatte Sublett, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to her caregivers Tianda Childs, Alexis Alexander, Keshi Council, Kenyatte Sublett, and Cherelle Burks.

Family and friends will be received at Living Word Ministries (formerly Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church), 1120 6th Ave. New Brighton, PA on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 6-8 pm., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 Minister Reon Nesmith, Jr. will be officiating and the eulogy will be given by Pastor Anthony Jones.  Interment will be at Sylvania Hills Cemetery.
