The Obituary

Hardin B. Moss, 81, of Erie, made his transition from this life to the celestial shores of Heaven on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 following a period of brief illness.

He was born, March 30, 1941, to the late Ed Moss and Mary Lizzie Turner in Panola, Al.  He was educated in the Alabama Public school system, where he was a graduate of R. J. Kirksey High School.  For 34 years Hardin was a faithful worker at General Electric as a machinist.

Hardin confessed Christ at an early age, in a field on his grandmother's land in Panola, Al.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 31 years, Bonnie Rae Dunston Moss and his son Christopher Hardin Moss.

Hardin leaves to cherish his memory and honor his legacy, his five children, Heather Moss of Detroit, Kimberly Jackson and Lisa Walters of Charlotte, N.C., and Shane Duck and Billy Joe Williams of Erie, PA; nine grandchildren, Paige Roberson, Daisha and Torre' Walters of Charlotte, N.C., Tishar Moss, Chad Duck, Shayla Gamble, and Shaderia Rowry of Erie, PA., Emmanuel and Hadeya Moss of Calgary, Alberta; his sisters, Annie Mildred of South Carolina, Essie Spruill of Pittsburgh, PA. and his brother Lonnie Moss of Omaha, NE.  He also leaves  sisters-in-law Lois Cole and Irma Dunston along with a brother-in-law Henry Dunston Sr. (Diane) of Erie, PA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, August 11, 2022 followed by funeral services at noon at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2624 German St. Erie, PA, with Bishop Jesse N. Gavin, officiating.  Internment will follow in the Erie County Memorial Gardens.  Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Pitts Funeral Home 2926 Pine Ave. Erie, PA
