Inez Pettis peacefully entered the presence of our Lord on Monday, June 2, 2025. Born on November 6, 1928, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, she was the youngest child of the late Hector and Mary Williams Pettis. She was preceded in death by her parents Hector and Mary Pettis, her siblings, Dr. Samuel Pettis Sr., Curtis Pettis Sr., and Minnie Woods and Niece Jan Anderson, Nephews Brent Woods and Simeon Pettis.

Inez leaves to rest her nieces and nephews: Mary Staples, Phyllis Woods, Roderick Pettis, Samuel (Rey) Pettis Jr., Dell Woods (Tujuana), Curtis Pettis Jr. (Vicki), Bryant Woods (Patricia), Jonathan Pettis (Angela), Vastine "Winkie" Pettis (Apple), Lydia Pettis, L'Tesha Pettis (Simeon deceased) godchildren, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11 a.m. at The Church in The Round, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. The Inez Pettis Scholarship Fund will be established to continue her legacy of support for education.
