James Albert Brodie, 87, passed away on April 6, 2022 at Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born on Oct 14, 1934 in Baltimore, MD to the late James Alfred Brodie and Dorothy Little Brodie.

James was a graduate of Frederick Douglas Sr. High School of Baltimore. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the military he continued his education. In his honorable service of 29 years he served as a computer supt., and AC&W Technician

Deacon Brodie was a member of the Community Baptist Church, where he served as a choir member. He was also a former member of Shiloh Baptist where he was very active. He enjoyed being a mentor to the youth and minority businesses.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter – Vicki Lenora Brodie; siblings – Shirley Owens, Doris Harris, Robert Brodie, and Evelyn Brodie.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 25 years – Gloria Jean Henderson Brodie; two sons – James Brodie (Emma) and Phillip Brodie; brother – Dr. Michael Brodie (Lolita); four stepdaughters – Brenda Henderson, Gloria Holmes (Rodney), Ramona Henderson, and Betsy Gavin; four stepsons – Curtis (Tori), Melvin (Melisa), Andre, and Sidney Henderson; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends. Best friends – David Carmichela, Michael Whren and Pastor Higginbottom A special thank you to Dr. Janus and the staff of the Millcreek Community Hospital.

Friends may visit with the family at Community Baptist Church, 1001 German St, on Saturday, April 16, 2022, from 10 am to 12pm, where a home going celebration will immediately follow, with Rev. Charles Mock eulogizing. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16504. EVERYONE MUST WEAR A MASK!
