The Life of the Centenarian

Mrs. Janie F. Williams Rawl, age 100, of Beaver Falls, PA, passed away from labor to reward in Greensboro, NC, on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Janie was born August 8, 1925, in Parkton, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Jim Ford and Carrie (McNeil) Ford.

She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Beaver Falls, PA. During her time there, she served faithfully as a member of the Ushers Board, Nursing Department, and Senior Choir, Building Fund Committee, Kitchen Committee, and Floral Designer.

Janie was also active in the American Red Cross Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from Westinghouse Electric in Beaver, PA.

Janie was known for her dedication to her church, love for her family, and service to her community. She was a phenomenal cook. She lived a full and vibrant life, marked by faith, generosity, and a warm spirit. Her strength and devotion were an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy E. Williams; her son, Roy Williams; her daughter Carrie L. Hudson; her grandsons Sherron Taylor and Travis Williams; and her second husband, Eugene Rawl Jr. Also, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bishop, Willie, Jimmy, and George Ford, and by her sisters, Amy and Ethel Ford, Virginia Nort, Alease Riley, and Annabel Sanders.

She is survived by her children: Buck (Bernadette) Williams, James (Isabel) Williams of California. Audrey Smith of Georgia, Ethel (Johnny) Harris of Beaver Falls, PA, and Regina (James) Crawford of North Carolina.

Her stepchildren also survive her: Sharon Bryant and Genia Rawl of Beaver Falls, PA, Kathy Sundin of Florida, Kimberly Boulding of Aliquippa, PA, Eugene Rawl, III., of Canton, OH.

She leaves to cherish her memories of 30 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren, and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, a brother and sister-in-law, Douglas (Bertha) Ford of Fayetteville, NC, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Hattie (Billy) Walker in Chippewa, PA. Two bonus daughters, Susan (Green) Smith and Starlett Bailey of Beaver Falls, PA. A goddaughter, Rebecca (Becky) Moore.  Friends, Marion Moore, Janie Law, Vickie Grisby, and Janie Webb.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9 am to 11 am for a viewing at Tabernacle Baptist Church at 630 3rd Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Dwight Banks officiating. An interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
