It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Jean Hunt Harper, she was born June 7, 1945, in Aliquippa, PA, to the late Eugene and Margaret Hunt. She departed this life on Friday, December 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Jean was a dedicated deaconess at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Blountstown, FL, where she served faithfully and with compassion.

She was a dedicated caregiver that loved to shower other with the love of Christ. She never met a stranger everyone was family and could count on her for assistance.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Charles Harper, siblings – Mattie (Ossie) Foster, Carolyn Hint, Robert (Gladys) Hunt, Helen (Larry) Davis, and Cecil Hunt.

Jean leaves behind six cherished children: Melvin (Nora) Martin, Kelvin Martin, Kimberly (Barron) Holmes, Troy Martin, Eric (Valerie) Martin, and Meliekia Martin, along with her beloved grandchildren: Clifford Martin, Candice Nealy, Tristan Martin, Kendja Martin, Jasmine Martin, Sharonda Martin, Jamar Martin, Sherricka Pope, Kelvin Martin Jr., Venisha Martin, Kiara Martin, EJ Martin, Yana Martin, TK Martin and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her eight siblings: Shirley (Sylvester) Griffin, Eugene Hunt, Bernice (Howard) Harrison, Brenda Hunt (John Witt), Patricia Hunt (Grover McBride), Gloria (Cedric) Jackson, Marcia (Joe) Boykin, and Don Lee Taff (Naomi Jackson), and sister in law Mary Hunt, nephew Floyd Williams, along with other family members and friends.

Her kind spirit, unwavering faith, and loving nature touched all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.

Friends may visit with the family at Pitts Funeral Home, 920 Franklin Ave, Aliquippa, PA, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, where a celebration of life will immediately follow, with Rev. Alec Piper eulogizing. Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
