JERDENE (Dene) PORTER

MEMORIES

Jerdene Dene Porter was born to the late Viola Norman Porter on February 27, l959 in Union, South Carolina.  She peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly Home on May 17, 2022.  Jerdene, affectionately known as "Dene" was adopted by her late uncle and aunt, Mr. John Jeter and Mrs. Mattie Norman-Jeter of Aliquippa, PA.  They were truly a blessing in her life.

Jerdene graduated from Hopewell High School in 1977.  She then enrolled in the Nursing Program at the Community College in Beaver County, and later attended the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy.  She was employed as a Customer Service Agent, a Nurse's Aide, and an Administrative Assistant.

Jerdene accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  She was a member of the Central Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the kitchen committee and as an intercessor.  In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, listening to inspiring messages and reading the word of God.

At the center of her life was her abundant love for her devoted daughter, Minister Shalette White.  Shalette was her constant companion, always by her side and available to her until she slipped away on the morning of May 17th, 2022.

With a sweet, loving and quiet spirit, our precious Jerdene left us with her extravagant love for God, her sense of humor, and her beautiful smile.  She was intentional in spreading the love of God by example, wherever she went.  She loved to encourage people through kind words, by sending cards, making phone calls, and giving gifts.   She was loved dearly by family and friends and she'll be sorely missed beyond words as she leaves behind a rich legacy.  We can find peace and take comfort in knowing that she has been promoted to her Heavenly Home and is enjoying being in the presence of her Heavenly Father.

Jerdene's memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Minister Shalette White of Pittsburgh, PA; two sisters, Mrs. Charleszette "Tweety" Zatta (Albert) of Aliquippa, PA, Miss Barbrette Porter of Pittsburgh, PA; one brother, Mr. James Porter of Patterson, New Jersey; two nephews, Mr. Michael Lundy (Cherrelle) of Aliquippa, PA, and Mr. Jason Brinson of Beachwood, Ohio; two nieces, Miss. Tonisha Gettings of Pittsburgh, PA, and Ms. Kim Brinson of Beachwood, Ohio, and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Viola Norman Porter; adoptive parents, Mr. John Jeter and Mrs. Mattie Norman-Jeter; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Lee Jeter Brinson of Beachwood, Ohio; grandparents, Mr. James Porter and Mrs. Colleen Norman Porter of Union, South Carolina.

"Well done good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.  Enter into the joy of your Lord."  Matthew 25:23
