Jessie Ruth Pheobe Dean-Lay,76, of Aliquippa, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

She was born on July 19, 1947 in Roma , GA.  She was the daughter of the late Lincoln Chatman and Cora Dean.

Jessie was a dietitian at Sewickley Hospital for some time but she retired from Pan AM Airlines and Mon Valley travel. Jessie enjoyed her time traveling & drawing up her fashion ideas and executing them and if you knew Jessie you knew she loved to dress up and put on her make up and she did it very well. She also loved playing solitaire, which was one of her favorite things to do to pass time as she spent time with her grandkids. She was never without a hand held solitaire game.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; James Lee Dean Sr. and Sister-in-Law; Joyce Dean. 3 aunties; Hazel Salmon, Lula Gilbert and Lena Jackson, cousins; Francine Gilbert, Ebony Carter,  Eddie Carter, Jr., Jasmine Carter, Jejuan Gilbert and Kathrine Cook.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter; Joel (Jason) Rodgers-Faulkner both of Aliquippa, 5 grandchildren; Cynthia Blaise (Micheal Scales) of Pittsburgh, Yvette (Anthony) Gaskins, Shyrico Rodgers (Jason Banks), Reahna and Rico Rodgers, Jr. all of Aliquippa, 13 Great-Grandchildren; Darionnah Tyson, Jermaine Jolly, Jr., Ny'cier and Nyla Sumlin, M'jai, Nia and Marcus Simmons, Jr., Javonte Henderson, Taylor, Torian and Tru Scales, Nayima Jackson and Baby J. Banks. Also 3 nephews; James Dean, Jr. of Coraopolis and Jaron and Justin Dean of Aliquippa, 4 cousins; Alfreda Salmon, Linda Wilder, Vida Bronaugh all of Aliquippa and Charlene Chatman of Toledo, OH. A devoted friend Juanita Simmons of Pittsburgh and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
