John E Moore, Jr (Jay), 57, of Ambridge, formerly of Aliquippa, PA went home to be with the Lord on September 24,2024 surrounded by his loving family and close friends.

He was the son of the late John E Moore, Sr. (Smokey) and Lena Simmons Moore.

Jay was a 1986 graduate of Aliquippa High School where he excelled in baseball.  He also attended Garrett College in McHenry, MD on a baseball scholarship.

Jay worked for over 30 years as a Direct Support Professional with clients that had intellectual/physical disabilities.  He was last employed with ARC Human Services, Bellevue, PA.  He retired in 2021 due to health issues.

Known to many as "Big Daddy" or "Book", Jay was a great man, full of life, love, and laughter.  He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend.  He loved his family tremendously.

He was an avid bowler and bowled in different leagues throughout Beaver and Allegheny Counties.  He bowled over 25 perfect games (300).

In addition to his mother, Lena Simmons Moore; Jay is survived by his wife, Christine Moore; "Pops" to six children, LaWanda,Texas, Tiqwai, Jasmyne, Jared, Sherman and Sheldon, all of Aliquippa; "Pap-Pap" to 16 grandchildren; One brother Mark Moore, Aliquippa; two sisters Michele Mathis, Beaver Falls, PA and Marie and Pastor Basil Moye (brother-in-law), St Mary's County, MD; his mother-in-law, Dolores Dean; Five aunts and two uncles; Mary Carr, Evie Cary, Elaine Wormsley, Barbara and Otha Jordan, Janice and Leroy Williams, Gloria Dillard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, October 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m - 11:30 a.m at Triedstone Baptist Church 505 Washington Street, Aliquippa, PA.  A celebration of Jay's life will be held following the viewing at 11:30 a.m.
