Joyce Shirleen (Gilbert) Moore of Uniondale, NY (formerly of Aliquippa, PA) transitioned to be with Lord on April 24, 2020. Born January 13, 1940, Joyce was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. George & Mozetta (Henry) Gilbert. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Austin Moore Sr.; three brothers, George (Flibby) Gilbert, Melvin (Bo) Gilbert and Williard Gilbert; and nieces, Tunisia Gilbert and Terri Lynn Gilbert.

Joyce graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1957. She was a member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church before and after moving to Aliquippa from Jamaica, New York. Joyce loved music and would dance at every opportunity. She was a very outgoing person and loved to entertain and be entertained with many friends from New York and Aliquippa. She was a great host and would have card games in her back yard. The kids would be up and down 132nd Street or sitting on stoops, riding bikes, waiting for Mr. Softee. She worked many years for New York Transit Authority and attended York College, where she studied nursing.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, James A. (Sharon) Moore II of Spring Valley, NY and Anthony G. (Kaneisha) Moore of Baldwin, NY; two daughters, Anita N. (Louis) Stevenson of Killeen, TX and Coatlique K. (CoCo) Moore Joseph of Uniondale, NY; an adopted son, Wayne (Cathy) Gatling of East Stroudsburg, NJ; a sister, Aileen Gilbert of Aliquippa, PA; fifteen grandchildren; Jaquita, Jennifer, James, Jerrell, Jazmine, Jada, Janel, Andrea, Aaron, Matthew, Diamond, Alayah, Khameesha, Dominique, and Zavien; ten great-grandchildren; Keyani, Amaiya, Dillon, Kade, River, Laikken, Destiny, Alexis, Jiovanna and Chase; devoted cousin, Charles Hines; devoted friends, Eleanor Redd, Pauline Gittens, Dolly Griffin, Tim Green, Arlene (Hope) Hines, Ellaree Dawkins and Helen Jenkins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, whom she loved dearly.

Joyce was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
