Laura C. Turner, 94, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was born Laura Jesse Moore on June 22, 1927 in Olmsted, Illinois to the late Cletus and James McCoy.

Laura was a long-term, faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, serving in many capacities including: the Missionary Society and the Decorating Committee. A member of Orpha Chapter #21 O.E.S., P.H.A. for more than 50 years, Laura was also P.L.R.R. of the Order of the Golden Circle, P.H.A. and served many civic organizations and boards in her long Erie tenure.

She was employed at GE Transportation for more than 40 years, retiring in 1987. Laura enjoyed sewing, reading, and serving her fraternal and social organizations.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Edgar Powell, sister Gloris Jean McCoy, cousin Crystal Barnes and dear friends Fred and Claudia Rush.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Sherman Paul LeaChe of Denver, Colorado; her daughter, Jacqueline L. Bryant of Erie, Pennsylvania; her sister Mable Winding of San Francisco, California; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; godson Gregory Eric McCullum and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may visit with the family at Shiloh Baptist Church, 901 East 5 ^th Street, Erie, PA 16507, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. An Eastern Star service begins at 11:30 am followed by a 12pm home going celebration, with Rev. Anthony G. Harris eulogizing.            Interment will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
