Leon Pittman passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 6, 1940, son of the late L.C. and Rosie Lee (Chapman) Pittman.

He lived in Erie, PA for more than 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and repairing cars. He was an active member of his church before becoming ill.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Marie (Nicholson) Pittman and sister Addie Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories, seven sons – Bibby Nicholson, Robert Nicholson, Danny (Viola) Nicholson, Kent (Jeanette) Nicholson, Joe Nicholson all of Erie, Stanley (Donna) Nicholson of Gainesville, Florida and Carl (Marina) Nicholson of Germany; two daughters – Jessie Mae Collier and Nicole Pittman – Reed both of Erie; two sisters – Millie Howard of Brandon, MS, and Lillie Evans; one brother Leroy Pittman both of Miami, Florida; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 10 am – noon, followed by the home going celebration at Bethel Apostolic Church, 229 E. 16 ^th Street, Erie, PA 16503 with Bishop John Crosby eulogizing. Interment will immediately follow at Erie Cemetery. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave, Erie, PA 16504.
