Leonard "Popeye" Johnson, III, 59, of Aliquippa, PA, passed away on August 1, 2022.  Popeye was born November 19, 1962 to the late Leonard "Bay" and Eileen Johnson.

Popeye was an Aliquippa High School graduate where he also played football.  Popeye also worked for Gist Catering and Metro catering.  Popeye was known any and everywhere he went.  He was always leaving a lasting impression upon people.  Popeye loved life and you would always see him smiling, laughing and helping anyone if he could.

In addition to his parents, Popeye was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents Leonard Sr. and Bertha Johnson, maternal grandparents Corrin and Herman Ellis, his wife LaVette, his brother Terrance Johnson, a niece Scherelle Johnson Sherell, three uncles Jimmy Harmon, Melvin Ellis, and Carl Ellis.

Popeye leaves to cherish his 6 children; Monique (Damian) Turner, Christopher Charles, Leonard (Beth) Johnson, Dontay Johnson, Shayla Johnson and Travis Johnson.  His 12 precious grandchildren;  Romie, Ra'Shawn, Jermiah, Jordyn, Maraya, Leonard, Cardae, Cassidy, Bella, Tiana, Rowan, and Riley;  3 sisters; Diane (William) Gilmore, Leonard (Eddie) McDaniels, and Roseanne Johnson; 2 brothers; Richard (Tracie) Johnson, and Charles Foster, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.   A special Friend Ms. Melanie.

Friends and family will be received Friday August 19, 2022  from 11:00 am to 12:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM  at New Holy Temple COGIC - 148 4th Avenue, Aliquippa, Pa.
