Obituary

"A Life of Faith & Love“

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

Proverbs 31:25-26

On September 28, 2026, Lillian “Mickey” Glenn Crawford peacefully entered eternal rest. Her life was rooted in faith, enriched by family, and marked by love.

Lillian was born on May 4, 1932, in Gallatin, Pennsylvania, to the late Thomas and Catherine Glenn. Raised in a large, loving family, she graduated from Monongahela High School in 1949, where she was a strong student.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. As a young woman in Monongahela, PA, she worshipped at Ebenezer Baptist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in 1960. She later became a devoted member of The Church in the Round in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, under the leadership of the late Bishop Melvin E. Clark. Known affectionately as Mother Crawford, she served as an evangelist and missionary, a member of the Mothers’ Board and Elders’ Wives, and a Food Bank volunteer.

A worshipper in every season, Mother Crawford loved “dancing before the Lord.” Her ministry extended beyond the church through missionary travels to Haiti, her participation in the Christ Crusade, guest keynote speaking, street-witnessing ministry where she faithfully used the CITR motto “May I Present Jesus To You”. She embraced life with joy, faced adversity with strength, and cared for others with compassion.

Lillian’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, love, and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, her faith, wisdom, laughter, and generous love will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched. Her legacy is one of a life well lived, a heart generously shared, and a soul peacefully returned to God.

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.”

Proverbs 31:28

Her Love & Legacy

In 1979, Lillian married Edward Daniel Crawford, Sr. They shared more than four decades of devoted marriage. Their love was especially evident during Lillian’s convalescence, when Edward provided exceptional care.

Family was among Lillian’s greatest treasures. She was the loving mother of the late Wayne and Warren Jorden and Adrianne Jorden Smith (Rodney). She leaves cherished grandchildren Jinaki Smith, Jamilia Jorden, Shelby Smith, Rashadd Jorden, and Adia Jorden, and great-grandchild August York.

Lillian will be remembered for her beauty, joy, elegance, resilience, generosity, hospitality, and infectious sense of humor. She made others feel welcome and valued and was a friend and source of encouragement to many. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, family gatherings, and community life, and was known for her delicious seafood gumbo and pound cakes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Catherine Glenn; her children, Wayne M. Jorden and Warren E. Jorden; her siblings, Carrie Hunter, Louise Hunter, Robert E. Hunter, Josie Hunter, Clarence Hunter, Leeode Glenn, Ella Mae Glenn, Parilee Glenn, Thomas Glenn, Jr., and Clyde P. Glenn; and her former husband, Henry M. Jorden.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Edward Daniel Crawford, Sr.; her daughter, Adrianne Jorden Smith (Rodney); her sister, Audrey Glenn Wheeler; her grandchildren and great-grandchild; and a host of extended family members, church family, friends, and loved ones.
