Linda A. Lay was born on January 24, 1957, in LaGrange, GA. She passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on Monday February 2, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Gertrude Lay, her brother Charles Lay; sister Patricia Lay; nephew Joel Smitherman; and a niece Kaofi Lay.

Linda was a woman of fashion which led to her being a collector of ALL things from furs to sunglasses. Linda loved her Steelers (Black and Gold), dancing, watching movies, and listening to music. She was always an avid learner graduating with the Aliquippa High School, Class of 1975 and from THEE H.U., Howard University, Washington, DC Class of 1981. She enjoyed spending time with children and young people which led to her working professionally in education. Most of all, Linda loved spending time with family and friends, especially her one and only child, "Alonte."

Linda leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Dr. Reggie Alonte Cameron; two sisters Liza Lay and Carol Woodyard; two brothers John and James Lay; two godchildren Mariah Sinclair and Anthony Worthy; three devoted friends Troy Harvey, Jake Betha, Michael Shields and an abundance of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
