LM Duck transitioned peacefully at home with family on April 5, 2025, at the age of 90. LM was born November 23, 1934, in Macon, MS, to the late Vince and Eliza Ella "Lizella" (Jones) Duck. LM moved to Erie, PA in 1952, where he remained until his passing. In September 1959, LM married Martha Beason who preceded him in death on August 8, 2024.

LM was an active member and servant of Greater Bethlehem Temple Church for many years. He was employed with Urick Foundry for over 40 years until his retirement in 1997. Family was very important to LM, and he loved being a Duck. He was called "Unc" by many and was known for being welcoming and giving friendly advice. LM was a great cook and enjoyed fishing, cruising in his Cadillac, singing, watching old Westerns, and socializing with family, friends, and his church community. He was also a Son of The American Legion Post #700 and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In addition to his wife, LM was preceded in death by his sons Terry L. Duck, Shannon D. Duck, and Derrick D. Carson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Thomas Duck, Archie Lee Duck, Freddie B. Duck, Robert D. Tate, and Willie Duck, as well as his sisters Pecola Tate, Rosie Lee Robinson, Jessie Mae Tate, and Clementine Tate.

LM is survived by his sons Kenneth Darby  (Joan) of Poinciana, FL; Alonzo Duck of Pacoima, CA; Vernon M. Duck of Erie, PA; Travis L. Duck of Alexandria, VA; Trent Carson (Dawn) of Erie, PA; Angel Clinton of Columbus, OH; Delaine Clinton (Gelinequa) of Charlotte, NC; and Jovan Clinton of Erie, PA; and his daughters Latonia Duck Jefferson of Raleigh, NC; Wanda Duck of Erie, PA; Trenisa Duck of Knightdale, NC; and Talia Duck Austin (Calvin) of Bowie, MD. He is further survived by 38 grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Also surviving LM are his siblings Lucille Mayberry, Vince Duck, and Mary Lou Tate (Eric), his stepmother Bessie Lou Duck, many nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
