Lonnie Jones, 71, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Lonnie was born on July 4, 1950, in Heidelberg, MS. He was the eldest of ten children of Ransom and Mildred Jones.

He was a member of the Liberty Cornerstone Community Church,

He was a loyal and dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan! Lonnie had a fervent love for music, particularly gospel and blues. You could always hear him singing along with songs on a daily basis. Lonnie loved growing up with his large family of siblings and often provided care and counseling to them.

Lonnie also loved to go fishing, horseshoes, bowling, barbecuing, playing pool he was a member of the Lucky Stripes and he played softball for the Unknowns and just hang out with "his people". He loved to travel to Mississippi to visit relatives and just have a good time. Lonnie was a great loving and caring father and grandfather. He was happiest whenever his family surrounded him. His 4 ^th of July birthday was one of his favorite times of the year. Lonnie was famous for his greens. He was a hustler and everything had a price. If he was mean to you, he loved you. His famous saying was: "Everybody ugly look at me"

Lonnie attended East Side Elementary and Carver High school in Picayune Mississippi.  He would later join the Job Corps and travel to San Francisco, California where he resided for many years before moving to Erie, Pennsylvania.

Preceding Lonnie in death was his parents Ransom Sr. and Mildred, a twin brother Johnnie, brothers Johnny Lee, Ransom Jr., Willie Ray and his eldest son Lonny.

He leaves to cherish his memory his soulmate Gracie Gray. Together for 30+ years; two sons – Lavell (Janet Mae) and Lionel Jones (Alisha); four daughters – Chro Parker (Jeff), Zadie Gregory, Suprema Hawkins (Roosevelt, and his baby girl, who he drove crazy, Lanay Jones all of Erie, PA; brothers James (Karen) of Spring TX, Mitchell (Jaramie) of Erie, PA.; sisters; Elsie Marie (Eugene) of Laurel, MS, Evelyn (Douglas) of Erie PA and Priscilla of Erie, PA. Lonnie is also survived by grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
