Martha was born January 28, 1936, in Rose Hill, MS, to the late Sam and Beatrice (Jones) Beason. Martha moved to Erie, PA in 1952 with her family, where she remained for the rest of her life. She married LM Duck in September 1959, and to their union nine children were born.

Martha was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and Greater Bethlehem Temple Church for 53 years where she was affectionately known as "Mother Duck." She was an exemplary woman of God and used her gift of kindness to bring others closer to the Lord.

Martha was an exceptionally gifted cook, baker, and homemaker and her house was often the gathering place for family and friends to fellowship. She enjoyed listening to gospel, watching game shows and cooking shows, and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her sons Terry Ledell Duck and Shannon Darrell Duck, as well as brothers Ezra Jackson Beason and Ronnie Toran Beason, and sisters Irma Dell Beason, Mary Lee Sherrell, and Eva Doris Beason.

Along with her husband of 65 years, Martha is survived by her adoring children Alonzo Duck of Pacoima, CA; Vernon M. Duck of Erie, PA; Latonia Duck Jefferson of Raleigh, NC; Travis L. Duck of Alexandria, VA; Wanda Duck of Erie, PA; Trenisa Duck of Knightdale, NC; and Talia Duck Austin (Calvin) of Bowie, MD. She is further survived by grandchildren Talia Johnson-Duck, Brettney Duck, Jonathan Jefferson, Brandon Duck, Shannon Neal, Jaylen Qualls, Veronica Duck, Brandon Coleman, Sean Coleman, Salena Jefferson, Trinity Magee, Aniya Williams, Gabrielle Austin, Rachel Austin, and Lauryn Austin.

Also surviving Martha are her siblings Floretta Jones, Willa Mae Moore, Vivian Beason (Barbara), Samuel Beason, Tom Beason, Rhea Tate (Willie), Jeanette Beason, Lois Beason, and Deborah Williams (Louis), and a host of family, friends, and church family.
