Marva Dianne (Bivins, Sias), Cobb born November 18th,1943 transitioned from this life peacefully on May 17th, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jordon and Mattie L. Bivins, and her sisters, Cheryl (Bivins) Smith and Denise Bivins.

She was baptized and raised in Greater Emmanuel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Marva graduated Aliquippa High in 1961 and attended Delaware State College, Dover DE for three years. Moved by the Civil Rights momentum Marva transferred to and graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education at what is now known as the University of the District of Columbia, and promptly began her teaching career in Washington, DC.

While working in DC Marva happened to encounter a friend from home who, like her, was ambitious and working a second job for the USPS. He became the love of her life and she married Eugene Jerome Cobb with whom she travelled some as she continued her chosen work as a school teacher most notably in Savannah, GA when he was on active duty.

Marva was a dedicated teacher. She did not aspire to be an administrator, coach or department head, and her preference was older children. Frequently she would say, "I want them after they can read and write so I can help them have a foundation to help them navigate the rest of their lives successfully! I don't want them to have to take a back seat to anyone!" God granted her wish and blessed with thirty-five years to do exactly what she loved for people whose families she knew here in her hometown at Aliquippa High School.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Joseph Sias Cobb, Washington, DC and Eugene Lanier Cobb, Bethesda, MD; Grandson Joshua Mason Cobb, Washington,DC; sister, Adrian BivinsEllerbee(Joseph) Aliquippa, PA; and one niece, Devon A. Smith, Randallstown, MD; Cousins: SandraTownsend Milton, Wilmington,NC; Alvin James (Deborah) Townsend, Willingboro, NJ; Diana and Danielle Trent, Lanham, MD. Additionally she is mourned by other cousins, friends, and STUDENTS, that we value as family.
