Mary Cook

On May 22,2022 God called Mary Cook home to eternal rest.  Affectionately known as Maybelle, Sue, Grandma Ice and Mae. Born June 26,1924 in Damascus, Georgia, Mary Crumb was a daughter of the late John and Leola Crumb.

She was a faithful member of St. John Missionary Baptist church; where she served as an usher, trustee, board member and later the mother of the church. Mother Cook was known affectionately  known  for her fashionable hats. Later in life while residing at Nugent skilled nursing and rehabilitation she joined Mt. Vernon Baptist church where Wayne L Fuller is the pastor. Mary Crumb Cook was a healthcare and domestic worker. She volunteered as a foster grandmother at the local daycare center. Some of her special hobbies were knitting, cooking and playing cards. Momma enjoyed watching old cowboy films, action pack thrillers, game shows and soap operas. She was committed and dedicated to her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories, to her loving children, Thomas Cook (Karen), Bertha Daramy, Mary Greer, John Lee Davis (Nadine), Willie Davis (Sylvia Hauser), Callie Thornton Padgett. Mary had an abundance of love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Her love speeded amongst her God children; John and Mattie McCoy, the Curenton family, Darnell and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Tommie Lee Cook, sons Robert Anthony and Billy Ray Cook, George and Sweetie Mike, daughter Retha Betty Cottman, her siblings three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday June 3, 2022 from  11:00 am - 12:00 pm, with the service to follow at 12:00 pm at Greater Dominion Church of the Millennium, 415 Melrose Ave., Ambridge, Pa 15003.  Professional Services entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home , 920 Franklin Ave., Aliquippa, Pa.  Antonio Pitts, Funeral director.
