Obituary

Mary W. (Williams) Hunter, affectionately called, "Mae Willis", made her transition on June 29, 2026 while residing at Health Care Rehabilitation Center in Oil City, PA. She was born on October 5,1937 in Cottonton, Alabama.  She was the oldest of three children born to the union of the late Leslie Joseph and Ella Jones Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Woodrow Williams and her loving and caring husband, Robert L. Hunter Jr.

Mary was a graduate of Glenville High School, Pittsview, Alabama.  After graduating, Mary relocated to Beaver Falls, PA, to live with her belated aunt, Mary Alford and her family.  There she was introduced to Robert L. Hunter, Jr. of Aliquippa, PA.  They were united in holy matrimony on February 20, 1959.  She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Sewickley Valley Hospital for numerous years.  She received Christ at an early age.  She was a faithful member of Ebenezer A.M.E Church in Aliquippa where she served on the usher's board as an usher and Chaplin for a number of years. Mary was also a member of the Queen Order of Eastern Star (Chapter # I).

She leaves to cherish her memories her sister, Barbara A. Davidson of Atlanta, GA; five nieces, Mrs. Melinda Guillory (Stanley), Loretta Williams and Janice Williams of Colorado Springs, CO; Lori Tyson, Aliquippa and Lisa Steele, Monaca, PA; nephews, Reginald Davidson, Flint Michigan, Anthony McClure, Monaca, Chris (Angela) Ingram, Aliquippa, and Robert (Tracey) Ingram of Colorado; two god-daughters, Hope Iverson and Lori Tyson of Aliquippa; brother-in-law, John Fields, Aliquippa.  She also leaves to cherish precious memories of her a host of cousins, friends and associates; long time caring friends, Elizabeth Jordan, Dorothy Woods and Essie Anderson.
