Mary Lois Pulliam "Girl/Aunt Girl"

Mary Lois Pulliam, 82, 316 Newman Street, was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born July 30, 1939, in Huston, Mississippi, to the late Rev. James Henry Pulliam, Jr. and Callie Bell Evans Pulliam. She resided in Erie Pennsylvania for fifty years.

Mary was a devoted homemaker and had previously worked at Hamot and Janitorial Supplies. She was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church later joining New Life and Spirit Revival Center where she served faithfully. Mary enjoyed cooking, singing, quilting, and took pride in loving her family unconditionally. To know her is to love her, being captivated by her meekness and genuine love for people. Mary's doors to her home remained open to anyone in need. Guided by her faith she took intentional time instilling the value of knowing and loving the Lord Jesus Christ to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and any soul she encountered. Mary loved beyond one's circumstance or status. She was affectionately known as "Girl/Aunt Girl".

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by; three brothers James L. Pulliam, Henry L. Pulliam, Charles Pulliam; three sisters Lela Mae Pulliam, Margaret Lee Pulliam Porter, and Lucille Pulliam Hollamon; one great-grandchild James Antonio Dupree Pulliam, Jr.; grandson Donta D. Carson Sr.; and niece Anne Brown-Carothers "Georgia".

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Linda Michelle Pulliam; two sons Jimmy D. Pulliam (Antoinette) and Henry Edward Pulliam (LaTonya); two sisters Evangelist Christine Lane of Westpoint, Mississippi and Lue Callie Brown of Erie; 24 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and two dearest friends Audrey Birchfield and Inez Martin.

We would also like to give a special thanks to the caregivers from Sunrise in-home care for their diligent support and service towards Mary.

Friends may visit with the family at New Life and Spirit Revival Center, 315 E. 9th Street, on Monday, September 27, 2021, 10 am to 12 pm, where a home going celebration will immediately, with Pastor Darrel Cook eulogist and Pastor Vickie Jones officiating.
