Melissa Ann Jones, 51, transitioned to her heavenly home on June 16, 2023 surrounded by her family.

She was born August 27, 1971 to Edna Jones Knight and the late Edward Lewis Carson. Melissa was educated in the Erie School District and graduated from East High School, Class of 1990. She worked for many years at Arbys and various food service jobs. Melissa was also a member of the Abundant Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Ryan Gaines and attended services there until her health prevented her from doing so.

Melissa will be most remembered for her humble and kind spirit, the love she gave to others, and her willingness to do whatever she could for those in need. She enjoyed cooking, baking, going out to eat and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Awaiting Melissa at heavens gates were her father Edward Carson, infant daughter Robin Jones, Grandmother Estella Lentz, Aunt Denise Lentz, Uncle Charles Lentz, and cousinLatasha Lentz.

Melissa leaves to carry her memories her mother Edna Knight and stepfather Ronnie Knight; 5 children, Joshua Jones, DivoneJones, Qwaneile (Alyssa) Jones, Shyaine Jones, and ShilomarJones; 7 brothers, Michael Jones, Andre Carson, Shantell (Della) Jones, Edward Lewis ( Ericka) Williams, Jonathan Carson, Billy Lucas, and Cecil Lucas; 5 sisters, Cynthia (Roberto) Feliciano, Belinda Lucas, Cecilia Manus, Angelica (Delvon) Dunn, and Ashley (Andre) Henderson; 14 grandchildren with 1 expected in September; her companion Robert Goins; a special friend Sandy Bowers, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday June 29, 2023 from 10 am until the time of the Celebration of life at 12 noon at the Abundant Life Ministries, 806 Parade St, Erie, Pa 16503 with Pastor Ryan Gaines eulogizing. Interment at Erie Cemetery.
