Melitta Powell, 46 of Aliquippa, PA gained her wings on June 8 ^th , 2022.

Born, February 22, 1976, to the late Sophine (Powell) Cain, and Byron Hardy. Melitta was a talented hairstylist and cook and a loving mother and grandmother. Melitta's spirit to just give it a try made her shine in everything she set her mind to, whether it was a new hairstyle, some type of craft or a new recipe or a new career Melitta would not hesitate to take on something new without fear. Melitta's children, grandchildren and her bonus children were her heart and she poured love onto everyone who knew her.

Melitta was a graduate of Aliquippa High School c/o 95, she attended Empire Beauty School and recently graduated from Crop & Kettle where she was able to tap into her passion for cooking and entrepreneurship. Melitta aspired to take her passion for healthy cooking and turn it into a new career to help her family and community with healthy eating. Melitta was involved in several organization where she made new family/friends, The Women of Passion, the staff at the Uncommon Grounds and the Crop & Kettle were such a blessing to her and always kept her encouraged.

Melitta leaves to cherish her memory four devoted sons, Raekwon Harmon, Rahjir Rodgers, D'Mari and Dari'On Snipes all of Aliquippa. Three grandsons, Kavion, Jayonce and Royce Harmon all of Aliquippa. Two devoted brothers, George D. Powell (Takeena) and Lawrence Reddick (Carol). Four sisters, Carol Spears and Ebony Thomas, of Pittsburgh PA, Yvonne Jackson of Aliquippa and Tezmalitta Baldwin of Arizona. Her loving nieces Rayne, Rah'Jane and Giahna Powell and her nephew Lawrence Reddick Jr., a devoted uncle, John Lowe of Florida, Devoted cousins, Daphne Lowe, Katherine Lynn and Mike Williams. Her sisters and brothers by bond, Margarette (Nay-Nay) Moore, Melissa Harrison, Angelia Holified, Shelina Clarit, Sanya Hayes, Eric Johnson, Brandi Williams and Tanaya Curenton.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Sophine (Powell) Cain, and Byron Hardy, her grandmother, Helen Lowe, uncle Craig Powell, her close friends Janita Patterson and Rico Rodgers Sr. and several aunts, uncles and close cousins.
