Michael Hawkins, Sr., aka "Big Mike," age 59, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 8:39 pm peacefully in his home in Ambridge, Pennsylvania.

Michael was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Gardenia Taylor and the late Robert Hawkins on August 10,1963. He was a graduate of Northgate High School and attended college at Fairmont State University. Due to his record-breaking basketball skills, he received a full athletic scholarship. For many years, he was a dedicated direct care provider for adults with intellectual disabilities. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and loved one to all he came across. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being a pinnacle part in raising his sons.

Michael Hawkins is preceded in death by his father Robert Hawkins, and grandmother Thelma Burrows. Michael is survived by his mother Gardenia Taylor; brother Curtis Hawkins, Sr.; sister Dyanna Hawkins-Jackson (Lavelle); sister Kimberly Hawkins- Dixon (Donald); brother Damon Gist; sons Michael Hawkins, Jr., Malik Abrams, and Jordan Hawkins; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
