Minnie J. Robertson, 87, a longtime resident of Aliquippa, passed away on September 24, 2019.
Minnie was born October 16, 1931, in Ellaville, Ga. to the late Allen J. and Vera (Kelly) Wallace, Sr. In addition, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Robertson; brother Allen J. Wallace, Jr. and sister Ann (Wallace) Price.
Minnie attended Aliquippa High School and subsequently earned a GED. Minnie then studied at Beaver County Community College. Her introduction to the work world was in dry cleaning, followed with retail jobs at Jackson Shoe Store, J.C. Penny's and Sears and secretarial positions at Aliquippa Middle School, R.O.O.T.S., Inc., NAACP and Tyler Youth Group, Inc., and a security role with Am-Gard Security. Minnie was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aliquippa for most of her life, however in her later years she frequently fellowshipped with numerous congregations. Minnie was a passionate community activist improving her community and lives of its people, especially seniors. She's survived by her son, William (Faye) Wallace; grandson, Kwame (Kharma) Wallace; sister, Mattie Christian; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
